First proposal: Makati, Philippines
Oh yes it’s with S, cause he proposed twice :)
Not because I said No the first time but because I think he wants to surprise me, as in surprise me.
Before you start reading this, let me tell you my ideal proposal, na alam naman ni Ge. Gusto ko something na private, dream ko nga sana ung parang sa sinehan pero kaming 2 lang, tas biglang may mag-ads na 'will u marry me". O kaya sa isang restaurant na privately reserved. Basta gusto kong kaming dalawa lang. In short ayaw ko sa public place.
Only few friends know, but it was 15th of July 2008 when Gerald first proposed. And it was in the Philippines, Gerald wants this to be a secret kasi pumalpak siya eh, but for me that was a memory to be cherished, big time! It was a perfect surprise sana, thing is I noticed the jewelry pouch (at least not the ring box itself, haha) before he popped the question.
It was a regular labas lang, he picked me up from the house cause we are to meet some of our friends sa Rockwell.
It started with a simple question...
Gerald: Ano yung bagay na hindi ka mabubuhay ng wala?
Lucky: hmmm ... (isip isip kabado, dahil sa nakitang lalagyan ng alahas sa lamesa)
Gerald: Ako alam ko na kung ano yung bagay na hindi ko kayang mawala sa buhay ko..
Lucky: (naluluha na, ramdam na may hawak si Gerald sa likod niya)
Gerald: Ikaw yun, I don’t want to live with out you. (marami pang sinabi na hindi ko na maalala windang na ako sa mga pinagsasabi niya)
Gerald: Lucky, will you marry me?
Lucky: waah, sabi ko na eh (naluluha na ako dito, tas tumudo daldal na ako, sinabi ko na nakita ko ung lalagyan sa table pero dinedma ko lang, kita ko na kabado siya at isip ng isip, blah blah)
Gerald: So? Hindi mo pa ako sinasagot eh, will you marry me? hehe
Lucky: Oo naman! :)
Second proposal: Cyberjaya, Malaysia
July 27, 2008 - this is my departure date from Manila going back to Malaysia. Gerald will pick me up at the airport by 1am. I had no idea this will be the most memorable day of my life. :) (Of course the wedding day will be another one.)
I can still remember inaway ko siya on the phone cause he’s nowhere to find, parang busyng-busy siya eh weekend naman. I even called up Charo kasi hindi ko siya ma-contact and Charo didn’t know daw where he is (kasabwat pala ang room mate ko, haha!)
Sa arrival area ng KLIA, mejo bad mood pa rin ako sa kanya, lalo nung nakita ko ung CELTICS na jersey na green na one of his favorites, na ayokung-ayokong isusuot niya kasi para siyang clown sa laki nung sando na un! So lalo ako nabadtrip! When he tried to kiss me, to welcome me back, I was cold, inis ako.
On the cab, on the way to Cyberjaya, I even asked him to sit in the passenger’s seat (away from me), I know he feels I am not in the good mood, I know he feels na inis ako sa kanya, pero kahit ganun pa man ngingiti-ngiti pa rin ang mokong! Lalo akong naiinis!
Pero mabait talaga siya, tyinagaan pa rin niya ako hanggang mapangiti niya ako. Gerald: Wag ka na magalit, hindi ko lang masagot yung phone ko kanina kasi nasa kalye ako sa KL, may surprise kasi ako sau, ayan para ndi kn magalit, sasabihin ko na, binilhan kita ng flowers kasi (ito DAW ung surprise niya). No comment lang ako.
We arrived at Cyberjaya, and he’s all smiles. Opened the door and jaaaran.... 1 piece of rose (as i step) from the doorway to my room, so in my mind “in fairness cute ung surprise niya” as in no idea ako na...
Candles will lead my way to bed, the heart shaped rose petals are inviting me to come inside and see what’s in her center. OMG!! It’s another diamond ring. One that every girl dreams of. I was so surprised, I didn’t expect he will do it for the second time and on the same month.
"Honey, ano ba?" I cried, oh yeah hard.
“Mahal na mahal kita sobra, siguro naman pakakasalan mo na talaga ako.”
